SAVANNAH - Mary Pannal Wood, 99, joined her heavenly Father on Saturday, August 22, 2009, in Stockbridge, Georgia at the home of her granddaughter. She was a native of Savannah born to parents, William and Frances Pannal. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Mr. Gruvey S. Wood, her daughter, Mrs. Marion W. Smith, and twelve brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her grandchildren, Frances Smith Kohan of Stockbridge, GA, James Frank Smith, Jr of Stockbridge, GA, Jeffrey Wood Smith of Savannah, and Joseph Marion Smith Patti of Aiken, SC along with her only great-grandchild, Kathryn Elizabeth Reilley, of Alpharetta, GA, whom she cherished. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Mrs. James Wood, and two nieces, Ms. Kathi Wood, of Savannah and Ms. Laura Wood.
She was a charter member of Savannah Christian Church and Christian Saints Sunday School Class where she leaves many devoted friends in Christ.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6pm at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Services will be held at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, Savannah, GA, at 12:30 pm on Monday, August 24th.
Interment: Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park at 2pm.
